Modbus protocol is a protocol that has been widely used in industrial sites for a long time because of its simple and stable usage. In addition, Modbus protocol supports both serial (Modbus/RTU) and Ethernet (Modbus/TCP) methods, so it can be used for the purpose. Smart Gateway can read data from multiple Modbus devices, configure it into a single communication message, and transmit it to facilitate maintenance.

- Assuming that the Modbus device at the bottom has 10 data each, the DCS (HMI) side must configure 5 Modbus/TCP sessions and make 5 requests, but when configured through a Smart Gateway, 50 data can be read from 5 devices at a single request, making it simple to maintain and reduce the cost of adding sessions.

- Write areas can be designated for each Modbus device, which can be processed by sending control commands to that location. For example, if you send a write command to 40022, the Smart Gateway will store the value sent to the second address value of the third Modbus device.
